Training

Overview

This EMDR International Association-Approved Training is held over two 3-day weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm and an additional Saturday session right before each training weekend from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm). Additionally, a total of 10 hours of group consultation is required to assist in the integration of the training material into practice. These 10 hours are included in the overall Training.

Basic EMDR Therapy Training Overview

Participants will learn via lecture, video, demonstrations, Q and A sessions, role play demonstrations, small group exercises and supervised practice sessions.

Each participant will experience EMDR as both clinician and client through two practice sessions each weekend. These practice sessions are facilitated by members of the training staff.

Twenty (20) CEU’s are given for each weekend, for a combined total of forty (40) CEU’s.

Rick Levinson, LCSW qualifies as a provider of CEU’s under subsection F of the Texas Admin Code (amended 6/23)*:
(f) Licensees must obtain at least fifty percent of their continuing education hours from one
or more of the following providers:
(1) an international, national, regional, state, or local association of medical, mental, or
behavioral health professionals; (EMDRIA)
(8) any provider approved or endorsed by a provider listed herein.

*Social Workers, §463.35; LPC, §681.140; Psychologist:§781.501; LMFT, §801.261

Please verify CEU requirements for your state.

Between Weekend 1 and Weekend 2 and then over the months following Weekend 2, group consultations sessions will be scheduled to assist in the integration of EMDR into clinical work. It is required that trainees take the skills learned in both weekends and begin to actively use EMDR. That work is then brought to consultation for review and support. Trainees may not participate in and get credit for consultation sessions without having work to present. Utilizing the learned skills and completion of the required consultation sessions following Weekend 1 is required to attend Weekend 2 and the same requirement extends following Weekend 2 in order to complete this EMDR Therapy Training.
